About Plant- The lemon cypress is also known as lemon cedar. It is quite used for its yellowish-green color, and for its pleasant fragrance reminiscent of lemon, it is decorative and you can have both inside and outside the house. It is considered a conifer for having reproductive structures called cones that protect the seeds, similar to pine cones. It is fast-growing, which can reach 6 meters (20 ft) in height. Its foliage is yellowish-green and the scent of its leaves reminds of lemon.
Lemon Cypress Plant Care
Light- Lemon cypress does not tolerate shade well. It grows best in open, sunny conditions.
Soil- Although it prefers a moist, fertile, well-drained soil, this tree tolerates a wide range of soil types—clay, loam, or sand; acidic or alkaline.
Water- Keep soil evenly moist, but not soggy.
Temperature and Humidity- They thrive in U.S. Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zones 7 through 10. If you decide to start growing lemon cypress trees indoors as houseplants, remember that they do best with cool indoor temperatures.
Fertilizer- Fertilize Lemon cypress in early spring, before new growth begins. Spread a general-purpose, 10-10-10 fertilizer around the tree's drip line.
