About Plant- Polyscias is a remarkable indoor tree. It's one of the few houseplants that like to be in the shade, and develops distinctive branches on which attractive leaves grow from the bottom to the top. Depending on the variety, the leaves can be green, yellow or white, and either round or heart-shaped.
Polyscias balfouriana (House plant) Care
Light- This plant likes bright, indirect light. It can handle light shade.
Water- Keep the plant moist in growing season, and cut back to watering every other week in the winter. High humidity is essential, so provide plenty of humidity year-round.
Temperature- This plant likes it warm, between 55 F and 60 F in the winter. Avoid cold, dry drafts.
Soil- Rich, loose potting media is best.
Fertilizer- Use liquid fertilizer throughout the growing period, or pellets in the spring.
Propagation- The Ming aralia can be propagated through cuttings. Take green-stem cuttings and use a rooting hormone for best success. Take the cuttings in spring, when you can provide them with plenty of warmth and moisture.
Prunning- Prune in summer to maintain shape and develop thicker trunks. Pinch out leaves to encourage branching. Lower leaves can drop in the colder seasons, revealing more of the attractive trunk feature.
